I wanted to share a blog post with you about how to nail your story's descriptions, but in light of all the horrible things that happened this week I think we could all use something a little deeper.
As writers we are masters of empathy - we feel more than the average person. We can create characters out of thin air and feel their heartbreak like it's our own.
When it comes to tragedies in the real world, this pain is even deeper. We see the stories and we read the victims' names and we feel like our heart is splitting in two.
When there's so much pain and tragedy in the world it's easy to feel helpless, but as writers our power comes from our words. That's why today I want to hear your words and your stories.
Sharing your story is important because it reminds you that you have power and you have a voice and you have the ability to help people see the world in new ways.
I want every member of this writing community to hear everyone's story's so today I want you to write your story in the comments.
Now your story can be anything: why you started writing, what you love to create, a description or a snippet of the novel you're currently working on. Or it can just be a little bit about you and who you are or what you want to share with the world.
Let's all come together today and remind ourselves that we have a voice in this world and we have a way to make it better.
Sending love your way and can't wait to read your story,
Tomi
